Some paintings rely on found imagery, ‘Express Yourself’ was based on part of a large poster I found in a bin outside a local sports shop, the text ‘x-press yourself’ caught my eye as it seemed too perfectly contradict my painting process . If I use found images I always paint them to scale, found images are used directly in the painting process they are used as ready made templates for the painting; this also explains why there painted in reverse.
